What works:
- At home:
- Garage Sale: everyone has a bit of extra clutter that needs to be sold and depending on how you go about doing it i believe you could make a fair amount of money. One man's trash is another mans treasure.
- Offer your services: If you like animals, walk the neighbourhood dogs or pet sit for a small fee. If you are fond of children, babysitting is another option. there are other things like, buying groceries for other people, doing a bit of garden work etc.
- Sell your hobbies: everyone has a hobby. sell what you do. if you like painting and drawing, sell your finished art. if you have a veggie garden, sell the extra veggies and fruit. Make jams and sell them too. If you are more of an outdoors adventure person you can teach people eg. surfing, snowboarding etc.
- Tutor: If you are academically gifted use this to tutor people who aren't as gifted as you. In every school there are people who need help.
2. Online
This is where you have to be really careful. There are so many online scams out there, mind you, most of them are scams.
Here are some tips on how to avoid them:
- if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is
- never give your credit card details or too much personal information out on the internet, unless you are sure it is a secure site.Credit card fraud and identity theft is very real and it can happen to anyone.
- Surveys: these are a fairy easy way to make some extra money, businesses often look for ways to improve products and what better way to do this than to ask the public. The nice thing about it is you actually get paid for them. Here are a couple good ones:
